Cellular, Molecular, & Professional Emphasis

The Cellular, Molecular, & Professional Emphasis caters to Biology Majors particularly interested in understanding the underlying cellular mechanisms behind the techniques of molecular and cell biology. This sub-discipline of Biology can be applied to employment and entrepreneurship in a broad range of fields including: human health, biotechnology, forensics, microbiology, environmental health, as well as conservation, natural resources, sustainability, agriculture. It is also preparatory to academic research and graduate education in nearly every field of biology. The CMP Emphasis relies on upper division laboratory courses that build familiarity with modern laboratory practices. It exposes students to techniques and to the sophisticated concepts and issues that are informed by these techniques.
