Indigenous Studies Certificate

Gain a deeper understanding of Indigenous cultures
This nine-credit certificate contributes to a more diverse and inclusive curriculum and campus climate, and promotes the recruitment, retention and quality of life of Indigenous students, faculty and staff. The program helps students develop the knowledge and skills needed to critically engage the world around them and successfully navigate their lives and careers beyond college. The Indigenous Studies Certificate celebrates indigenous knowledge and builds mutually beneficial collaborations and connections UW Oshkosh and Indigenous nations. In these ways, the University may better recognize the legacy and contemporary experiences of Native peoples in Oshkosh and the Fox Valley and fulfill broader responsibilities to the twelve Indigenous Nations of Wisconsin.
