Students were read a book. As the book was read we talked about how some of the words sounded and what they made the reader “feel”. We then talked about various kinds of movement. The students were given a scarf and were asked to move in various ways around the room. We divided up a book and paired the students up. Each pair was tasked with creating movement to bring their pages to life. The book was read together with each pair using their scarves to bring movement to their words.
