This lesson incorporates art, art history, and world history. We taught this lesson last year, students went to an “airport terminal” and from there “flew around the world” during the Renaissance to look at the different artwork being created from the time period. Students went to Amsterdam, Germany, England, and Italy (Florence and Venice) to look at some of the great works being done and learn about them. When they came back, they had to get their passports stamped by either myself or Brittni to show the knowledge they gained. Students also completed a packet answering both arts and social studies based questions about their journey.
