Through the use of multiple educational lenses, students investigate current societal issues in relation to societal issues observed in “The Crucible”. Students communicate their ideas and understanding through mixed media collage, accompanied by an artist statement. This follows a unit of study on a piece of literature, event in history, or other content-area unit. The goal of this unit is to provide students a creative outlet for expressing their claim about a piece of literature, while simultaneously learning about artistic skills and concepts. The process wraps up with an art gallery exhibiting students’ journey through learning.
