Students will learn about Indigenous cultures and demonstrate how colors and patterns can symbolize and represent pieces of their identity by creating an indigenous-inspired beading piece. Students will then share their creations with peers and explain why they chose each color/pattern. You will need graph paper, colored pencils, scissors, hemp cord (1 yd. per student), key rings (1 per student), and pony beads (younger students benefit from larger sized beads).
