Bring Your Whole Self: Student Flourishing Through Intentional Communities

This event is focused on building support and a community of care for students such that they they know their whole selves are welcome and valued. It will focus on what students need to have a sense of belonging, thrive both in terms of personal and academic growth, and know how to participate in a community oriented toward racial justice and other forms of social justice. Moreover, this session will discuss how to design communities that value minoritized students’ strengths Together, the presenters will address strategies for addressing power imbalances in the community creating a safe and supportive environment where learning and exploration thrives, and providing opportunities for students to focus on their mental health and physical well-being.
