Welcome to the College of Business at
the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh!
What does it mean to be a capable business person in the 21st Century? To be sure, you cannot be successful in business without a solid understanding of bottom line principles. However, even a laser focus on the bottom-line cannot ensure success. It takes a tool-kit of wide-ranging skills: analytics, problem-solving, and people management.
At UW Oshkosh, we take pride in the fact that our students are among the most well-rounded business graduates you can find in the State of Wisconsin and beyond. Every day, we embrace the challenge of transforming eager, hard-working students into professionals who will go on to have fulfilling and rewarding lives working in almost every area of business.
Our College thrives on our partnerships with businesses in our community. They offer amazing internship and professional development opportunities to over 1700 business undergraduate students, provide guest speakers, and bring real-world issues to our classrooms. The variety of businesses allows us to develop internships that suit varied interests in industry, size of company, career paths, and developmental needs. Each student is required to fulfil 100 hours of a professional internship and almost half find their first jobs through these partnerships. Area professionals are gracious with their time and enjoy helping our students explore their capabilities.
With the help of our donor partners, we offer many scholarships to our students, a highly successful Student Managed Endowment Fund, exciting entrepreneurship Pitch Contests, student field trips, club and student organization activities, and other extra-curricular learning opportunities. Our alumni success shows that a degree that combines the best of a liberal arts education with professional training and development can lead not just to fulfilling careers but also to fulfilling lives.
Our College is one of only six percent in the world with accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Our faculty are drawn from some of the best schools in the country: University of Wisconsin-Madison, Michigan State, The Ohio State University, They actively publish research that pushes the discipline knowledge in their fields and creates meaningful change in the delivery of management education. Our faculty were recently ranked 13th out of 1900 schools in the number of research publications addressing management education.
Every day, we strive to become better at providing a high-quality learning environment that blends theory with application, connects students to businesses and nonprofits in our community, while remaining good stewards of the financial resources we are privileged to receive toward our mission.
