MBA-EXECUTIVE CURRICULUM

Our curriculum is developed with input provided by management and executives of local, regional and international companies. Multiple business disciplines are discussed, providing an in-depth understanding of how they interrelate.

Seven integrated modules are aimed to strengthen leadership skills, deepen business acumen and advance critical thinking skills for real-world application.

MODULE 1: ORIENTATION, ADVANCEMENT AND LEADERSHIP

  • A multi-day orientation including an overview of the program and introduction to the international study tour
  • Strategies for balancing work and non-work pressures and family support
  • Advancing yourself, your team, the enterprise and the economic region
  • Developing an understanding of different functions within your organization

MODULE 2: DECISION MAKING

  • The five levels of leadership
  • Quantitative decision making under uncertainty
  • Financial accounting concepts and application in the strategic decision-making and analysis process
  • Business forecasting, economics of the enterprise and financial reporting

MODULE 3: THE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

  • How to identify and define marketing opportunities
  • How marketing strategy fits within business strategy, international business and the global environment
  • Managing the supply chain, and political, economic and social environments of the countries to be studied
  • Tools and techniques for making decisions and allocating resources across competing priorities

MODULE 4: THE ECONOMICS OF THE ENTERPRISE

  • Macroeconomics for executives and legal environment of business
  • The legal environment and the role ethics has in decision making
  • Technology and optimal systems
  • Managing talent, including yourself and others
  • Explore the critical role that organization culture plays in the management of an organization

MODULE 5: THE FINANCIAL ENVIRONMENT

  • Conduct an assessment of a firm’s economic environment to improve decision making and strategic planning
  • Look at organizational costs, financial analysis and project management from a leader’s perspective
  • Learn how to become both innovative and entrepreneurial in any organization

MODULE 6: MAKING IT HAPPEN

  • Strategic marketing planning and corporate financial strategy
  • How to evaluate an enterprise-wide risk management program
  • How to evaluate financial resources and risk management issues
  • How to be a change agent and leader – managing conflict, politics and challenges that result from change

MODULE 7: CULMINATING RESIDENCY

  • Business plan that incorporates strategies and key takeaways learned throughout the program
  • Teams present final project to business professionals who provide constructive feedback
  • Program evaluation
  • Celebration

International Study Tour

Participants in our MBA Executive program partake in a required 10-day international study tour as part of their educational experience. Study tour locations are selected by our faculty and based on the country’s economy and current events influencing global business.

  • 2015: Seoul, South Korea & Beijing, China
  • 2016: Seoul, South Korea & Beijing, China
