Get Ahead at UWO

UW Oshkosh provides a variety of ways to keep you moving towards your goal of becoming a teacher. Prospective first-year and transfer students can get a head start on professional education programs through multiple pathways:

Direct Admission Program

Incoming first-year teacher education and transfer students seeking direct admission into professional education programs in the COEHS must meet the minimum requirements:

High School or transfer GPA of at least a 3.25+ AND one of the following:

+ Minimum Composite Score of 22 on the ACT(r) Plus Writing Test
+ Minimum score of 23 on the ACT(r) Test
+ Minimum sub-score of 520 on mathematics, 510 on critical reading and 480 on writing for the SAT(r) Test

Students must complete direct admission application within the first month of their first semester of classes at the UWO. Students will need to maintain minimum requirements throughout the program to remain in good standing. Students without a defined GPA may be admitted through an interview with the director of COEHS Professional Education Programs.

Graduate in four years

A growing number of teacher education programs at UWO can be completed in four years. Incoming first-year students who enter into a four-year graduation program agreement are connected to academic advisors to create a personalized program of study that guarantees students get the courses they need to earn their degree in four years.
