Elementary Education

As an elementary teacher, you will play an important role in fostering the intellectual and social development of children by providing them the tools and environment needed to succeed academically, develop relationships and grow socially.

Early -Middle Childhood (EC-MC)

Ages: Birth to age 11 | Grades: PK to 6
Prepares students to teach in early childhood and elementary schools. Elementary Education (EC-MC) students may also choose to pursue a minor.

Middle Childhood through Early Adolescence (MC-EA)

Ages: 6 to 13 | Grades: 1 to 8
Prepares students to teach in elementary schools (Grades 1 to 6) and in the core content areas of health, languages arts, mathematics, science and social studies in middle schools (Grades 6 to 8). A minor is required.

Secondary Education

As a secondary education teacher, you will have the exciting opportunity to educate and motivate youth in middle or high school. Learn to design curricula and classroom experiences for diverse learning styles in a specific content area.

Early Adolescence through Adolescence (EA-A)
Ages: 10 to age 21 | Grades: 5 to 12

English

Whether speaking, writing or critical thinking, English helps students with all subjects in school.

Mathematics*

Mathematics is the study of abstract patterns and regularity. This study could focus on patterns of numbers, shapes spaces, motion chance, data, operations or reasoning.

Science*

Advances in technology and science are transforming our world at an incredible pace, and science is as critical to learning as reading, writing and math.

Social Studies

The social sciences helps students learn about societies and how they fit into the world around them.

*High need areas in secondary education. Starting salary range for graduating secondary education teachers in Wisconsin is $36,000-$42,000 for a 9-month contract.

PK-12

As a PK-12 teacher, you will have the exciting opportunity to educate and motivate students by designing curricula and classroom experiences for diverse learning styles in a specific content area.

Art

Build creativity and confidence in kids by developing problem-solving, visual-spatial and motor skills.

ESL

Cultural diversity is increasing in school districts throughout the country. Support students of all ages as they learn the English language.

Global Languages and Cultures

Learning languages and other cultures helps students break down the barriers and become successful learners, effective communicators and global citizens.

Music

All music education students complete the requirements for the general music license to complement the instrumental or choral music license.

Technology and Engineering Education

This four year bachelors degree program merges the strengths and expertise from two institutions Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) and UW Oshkosh. Students enroll at FVTC for the first two years and complete general education courses and specific technology content courses in construction, transportation, engineering/manufacturing and communication/information technology. Students then transfer to UW Oshkosh in year three to complete education courses and their remaining general education courses.

The Early Childhood Special Education Program with dual licensure prepares students to teach in both regular and special education settings.

American Sign Language and Deaf Culture Certificate

American sign language (ASL), a visual-spatial language used by a large percentage of the deaf people in the United States and Canada, has gained popularity within the last decade. ASL is used with young children with and without disabilities to enhance communication, decrease behavioral issues, and increase emergent literacy.

Career Pathways | Technical College Licensure Pathway

This program is designed for students who have earned their Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in early childhood education from any Wisconsin Technical College.
