An announcement Thursday by the CDC regarding vaccinations and mask wearing does not impact the mask requirements on our campuses or our Saturday commencement ceremonies.

On Saturday, masks will be required in Kolf Sports Center for all graduates, staff and guests, regardless of vaccination status. We are taking this step to protect the health and safety of everyone who gathers with us.

The CDC in its announcement said local mask mandates would supersede its guidance. The City of Oshkosh also has a mask mandate in place for public spaces through May 31.

Thank you for your continued attention to your community’s health and safety.

In centuries-old tradition, faculty and academic staff wear academic regalia as a symbol of their commitment to teaching, research, creative activities and noble service. This attire is symbolic with origins in the Middle Ages.

Welcome Faculty, Staff and Volunteers

You’ve supported and mentored them. You’ve helped them succeed.
Now, it’s time to celebrate our graduates major milestone.

Due to COVID-19 regulations we have restricted capacities within the ceremonies.

The Special Events Office invites you to celebrate this momentous occasion and the culmination of your great work by tuning into the live streamed presentation of the commencement celebration or volunteering to help work the event.

Each volunteer will be assigned two jobs: one assisting graduates and guests as they arrive for each ceremony and one during the ceremony. We ask all volunteers to be flexible as needs may change the day of commencement. We will do our best to assign volunteers to their requested jobs.

Greet our graduates upon arrival and check them in for the ceremony. Registration begins one and a half hours prior to the ceremony and ends 30 minutes after the ceremony begins. If you have an affiliation to a particular college, let us know!

Greet families and guests, hand out programs and help answer questions. Volunteers arrive two hours prior to ceremony and are finished after the processional (approximately 15 minutes after the ceremony begins).

There are many other opportunities to help the commencement team. Please contact us to let us know how you’d like to share your time and talent.
