Interning at the Civic Engagement Center involves gaining work experience in marketing, event planning, nonprofit outreach and leadership. This is a paid position with a flexible schedule. Working up to ten hours a week is guaranteed. Tasks may include: designing print and digital advertising materials, social media and web content creation, research and event planning and logistics. Civic and Community Engagement interns work independently and in coordination with our Civic Fellows Team and Center Director and Faculty Fellow.

Civic Influencers

Civic Influencers gain work experience in marketing, event planning, campaigning and voter engagement as they work to promote the importance of voting in the Fall, 2022 election. This position will be provided training and a $500 grant by Campus Elect. You will have the opportunity to network, complete training in social media content creation and voting data analysis and coordinate candidate and voter events. Civic Influencers work independently and in coordination with our Civic Fellows Team, the Center Director and Faculty Fellow and Campus Elect staff.  

Civic Fellow

Not quite ready for an internship, but want to be involved and build your resume? Join our Civic Engagement Fellows team! Civic Engagement Fellows attend Center for Civic and Community Engagement events and join in our monthly leadership conversations. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in social media content creation, increase your knowledge and skills for civic and community engagement and network with nonprofit professionals, elected representatives and political candidates. This is a volunteer position with flexible hours. The minimum requirement is attendance at our monthly leadership conversations which are held from 3-4:30 on the third Thursday of each month.
