Growth and celebration of achievements sum up the accomplishments of the last year at the UW Oshkosh College of Nursing (CON). In undergraduate programs we have increased the number of traditional BSN students admitted to the college, and added a third cohort of our accelerated nursing program in February 2017. The CON is home to the first doctoral nurse anesthesia program in Wisconsin which began in June, graduates will hold a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
The CON celebrated 50 years of developing caring nurse leaders and scholars in fall, 2016. The event was a great success as we awarded our first Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Marsha Lewis ‘72. The CON received special recognition from Secretary of DSPS, Dave Ross for our consistently high National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) pass rates. We were also awarded a grant from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation to conduct our first white coat ceremony for our nurse practitioner students.
The future is bright as we strive to develop and prepare nurses for new roles and opportunities. All employees in the CON work together to provide the best education for our students. We role model the professionalism we expect in our students and are proud of their accomplishments. We are also proud of our alumni, you represent the CON daily and we are grateful for your professionalism and support.
