College of Nursing

The following requirements must be met prior to consideration for admission into the DNP–Family Nurse Practitioner Emphasis:

A) BSN from a program accredited by the National League for Nursing (NLNAC), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on College Nursing Education (CCNE)

B) Current, unencumbered Wisconsin RN license*. Individuals licensed in other states should contact congrad@uwosh.edu for additional information about the licensure requirement.

C) Minimum 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA

• • Applicants with a GPA of 2.70 to 2.99 may be considered for admission under probationary status. GRE scores are required for such applicants.

D) Three professional references with knowledge of applicant’s current professional and/or academic skills

*Registered nurse experience is very helpful, but not required.
