BSN to DNP: FNP Emphasis – Application Process


The College of Nursing admits students to the BSN to DNP Program every fall. The BSN to DNP application is available July 1st through April 1st for the fall admission cycle. Application materials must be received by the College of Nursing Graduate Program Office and official transcripts must be received by the Graduate Studies Office by April 1st to to be eligible. 

Complete the online application and pay the $56 application fee at http://apply.wisconsin.edu.  The application is a UW System form and is sent electronically to UW Oshkosh Office of Graduate Studies. This MUST be completed by April 1st. The Office of Graduate Studies office will review and forward the online application to the Graduate Program Office in the College of Nursing.

Submit official undergraduate and any graduate transcripts to Office of Graduate Studies by April 1st for processing. Transcripts must come directly from the university to the Office of Graduate Studies; transcripts submitted by the applicant are not considered official:

Applicants may mail or email (congrad@uwosh.edu) items A.-E. directly to the College of Nursing Graduate Program Office.

A.  Resume (please include your professional association memberships, certifications, and continuing education activities).

B.   RN license*  (copy from credentialing website is accepted).

C.  A 250-word essay describing what you have done to prepare yourself for graduate study, why you are applying to this particular program, and what are your career goals post-DNP.

D. Background Information Disclosure Form (BID)** – Print and complete this form.

E. BSN DNP Written Admission Requirement.

*Applications can be submitted from those who have yet to graduate from their BSN program and attain RN license.  Transcripts bearing BSN degree completion and proof of RN licensure must be submitted prior to granting full-standing admission to the program.

**Upon admission to program, applicants will be requested to complete a full background check with associated fees the student’s responsibility. This form will not be part of the evaluation process for selection into the program, but will be used for advising purposes only.

Reference Forms

Applicant must follow directions for reference form (Item F) for completion of application process. Instructions: Applicants are to complete the top portion of the reference form and forward to the three references they have listed on the Office of Graduate Studies online application form. Reference forms are to be returned directly from the references to the College of Nursing Graduate Program Office.  This can be done either by email, fax, or mailing to the address listed at the bottom of the form. F. DNP Reference letter Form – A minimum of 3 references forms are required.

After admission requirements are met and submitted by deadline dates, eligible applicants will be invited to participate in an interview. See Application Deadlines and Information for fall admission cycle.
