Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be met prior to consideration for admission into the Master’s to DNP program:

A) Master’s degree from an accredited university

B) Current, unencumbered Wisconsin RN license. Individuals licensed in other states should contact congrad@uwosh.edu for additional information about the licensure requirement.

C) Minimum 3.5 cumulative graduate GPA

D) Prerequisite coursework in graduate-level nursing theory, research, ethics and advanced-level pharmacology

E) Evidence of 550 hours of advanced nursing clinical practice in a given specialty. Clinical specialty hours in an educational program are acceptable.

F) Current advanced nursing practice certification either a Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Certified Nurse Specialist (CNS), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or RN with indirect care specialization in administration

G) Three professional references with knowledge of applicant’s current professional and/or academic skills

Note: Due to the competitive nature of the admission process applicants should understand that meeting the minimum standards does not guarantee admission into the program. Applicants will be screened and the most qualified individuals will be invited for an interview.
