The UW Oshkosh Accelerated BSN Option is an affordable, 12-month hybrid nursing program designed for individuals who already have a bachelor’s degree and are seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Students earn their degree faster, and from any location, allowing them to get their nursing career started sooner.

Three program cohorts are offered each year, beginning in February, May and October. Instructional components of the program consist of 100% online nursing theory courses, clinical rotations in or near students’ current location and one on-campus residency consisting of a two-week lab/clinical combination.

Admission Requirements 

  • Admission into UW Oshkosh
  • Prior completion of non-nursing bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Minimum pre-nursing GPA of 3.0 on the completed College of Nursing prerequisites.
  • Criminal background check.
  • Completion of nursing assistant course with clinical component and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Proof of residence is required in one or more of the approved states (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin).
  • Credential evaluation.
  • Students educated outside of the United States must submit evidence of English language proficiency by scoring at least 71 ibt on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
