UW System OPID Wisconsin Teaching Fellows and Scholars

Beth Johnson

Beth Johnson is a professor of geology at the Fox Cities campus, where she works closely with students from across the campus to share her passion for geology and to help them learn the important role it plays in their lives. Everything she does for the University is student-focused, from serving on the Equity, Diversity and Inclusive Climate committee and Scholarship and Academic Actions committees to directing freshman and sophomore-level independent research projects. And she is always willing to work with school and community groups to help them learn more.

Johnson is a nationally recognized researcher on issues affecting women and minoritized groups participating in the geosciences and was selected for the 2022-23 UW System Wisconsin Teaching Fellows and Scholars program so she could continue to pursue issues related to social justice in the geosciences and making them equitable and accessible for everyone.
