Level 1 Courses (Required):

CJ 110: Introduction to the Criminal Justice Process (3 credits); Prerequisites: None

CJ 270: Introduction to Criminal Law (3 credits); Prerequisites: None

Level 2 Courses (Required):

CJ 212: Management of Criminal Justice Organizations (3 credits)  –OR– PA 221: Introduction to Public Administration; Prerequisites: All Level 1 CJ Courses Completed

CJ 218: Adjudication Process in Criminal Justice (3 credits); Prerequisites: All Level 1 CJ Courses Completed

CJ 244: Correctional Process (3 credits); Prerequisites: All Level 1 CJ Courses Completed

CJ 281 Elementary Statistics in Criminal Justice Research (3 credits); Prerequisites: All Level 1 CJ Courses Completed, Math 104 or PBIS 187, 188, 189 or Math Placement Exam score higher than Math 104/PBIS

CJ 288: Police in Modern Society (3 credits); Prerequisites: All Level 1 CJ Courses Completed

CJ 343: Quantitative Research Design (3 credits); Prerequisites: All Level 1 CJ Courses Completed; CJ 281 as a co-requisite or CJ 281 completed prior to enrolling in CJ 343, or consent of instructor.

CJ 351: Theories of Crime (3 credits); Prerequisites: All Level 1 CJ Courses Completed

CJ 319: Criminal Courts: Proof of Guild (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed

CJ 328: Criminal Courts Behavior (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed

CJ 331: Women and Crime (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed

CJ 332: Institutional Violence (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed

CJ 333: Illegal Bias in the Criminal Justice System (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed

CJ 344: Crime Films, Popular Culture, and Criminology (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed

CJ 346: Community-Based Corrections (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed

CJ 347: Juvenile Justice System (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed

CJ 348: Law of Corrections (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed

CJ 352: Organized Crime (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed

CJ 353: Convict Criminology (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed

CJ 375: Special Topics – the topic of this course will vary (3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed; course can be repeated twice as long as a different topic is taken.  See Academic Department Associate if you plan to take two CJ 375 courses.

CJ 396: Internship in Criminal Justice (1 – 8 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed, 90 credits completed; 3.0 or greater GPA in CJ Major

CJ 446: Independent Study (1 – 3 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed; department consent and general prerequisites as described by Course and Academic Advisement Policies

CJ 474: Honors: Thesis (1 – 6 credits); Prerequisites: Level 1 and Level 2 CJ courses completed; department consent, university honors status, and junior or senior status.

Level 4 Course (Required):

CJ 358: Major Criminal Justice Issues (3 credits); Prerequisites: All Level 1 and Level 2 CJ Courses Completed, and 9 of the 15 required elective credits (i.e., Level 3 courses) Completed.
