Titan Ally Workshop Series
The Titan Ally Workshop Series (TAWS) is an opportunity for faculty and staff to engage in important discussions surrounding inclusivity on campus while building community through allyship. The series kicks off with Foundations, a subject inclusive workshop covering topics key to creating a welcoming Titan community, such as implicit bias, stereotyping, and microaggressions. TAWS also houses Component Workshops and InFocus Opportunities, both intended to allow faculty and staff to increase their knowledge of diversity and inclusivity in different settings around campus.
Faculty and Staff who complete Foundations, a Component Workshop and an InFocus Opportunity, will receive a Bronze Titan Ally Shield. Those who complete Foundations, three Component workshops and three InFocus Opportunities will receive a Titan Ally Certificate from the Office of Equal Opportunity, Equity & Affirmative Action (EOE/AA) and a Gold Titan Ally Shield. Workshops need not be taken in any particular order. All participants must track their own participation using the working tracking sheet.
Qualifying Trainings & Events
Building community at UW Oshkosh through allyship is indeed a community effort. For that reason, trainings and events on campus facilitated by other departments at UW Oshkosh can qualify as TAWS Component Workshops or InFocus Opportunities depending on the content. By recognizing inclusivity efforts across campus, faculty and staff can expand on important topics of inclusivity while actively building community with department neighbors on campus.
