Algoma Boulevard Project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The work remaining under this contract consists of the public construction of concrete pavement and sidewalk on Algoma Boulevard, along with electrical work.

Construction work for City Contract 22-04 is anticipated to be complete by November 18. The general contractor is Dorner, Inc. out of Luxemburg, Wisconsin. Please be advised that the schedule below is tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions, scheduling changes, and private utility conflicts. City garbage/recycling will remain on your normal day. Please have your carts to the curb by 7:00 am. New street lights have been installed along Algoma Boulevard between Wisconsin Street and Congress Avenue. Please contact Dan Kussman, City Electrician at (920) 232-5350 for specific information.

It is anticipated that Algoma Boulevard will re-open fully to traffic between Wisconsin Street and Congress Avenue the morning of November 18. High Avenue traffic will return to one-way traffic in conjunction with Algoma Boulevard re-opening. Please anticipate this upcoming traffic pattern change and exercise caution when traveling along Algoma Boulevard and High Avenue.

Notice for property owners: Algoma Boulevard between Congress Avenue and Woodland Avenue is open to local traffic with access off of New York Avenue. Sidewalk and driveway paving has been complete and all driveways are now open. Grass seed has been planted, but property owners are responsible for watering and providing proper care. However, there will be a spring tune up performed by the contractor for areas where the grass seed did not properly grow and/or topsoil has settled in late May or early June of 2023. It is also anticipated that all replacement terrace trees will be planted the week of November 14, for property owners who requested replacement trees. Please note that tree locations were determined by the City Landscaping Operations Manager in order to avoid conflicts with underground utilities.
