The Faculty Senate invited Dr. Aggie Hanni, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management to the September 24th meeting for an introduction to the faculty and question and answer period. Dr. Hanni joins UWO from National Louis University in Chicago and brings energy and new ideas to implementing the strategic enrollment plan on campus. Enrollment continues to be a challenge for UWO campuses with significant declines experienced in numbers of transfer students at Oshkosh and in online enrollment at the access campuses. The budgetary implications (declines in projected revenue) are under discussion this fall.

Additionally, the OSA representative shared several exciting initiatives from student government that are rolling out this year. These include a free ride share program called UWO-GO that in collaboration with the UWO police department will help students safely get to and from campus for basic errands within a two-mile radius. Student government is also working to unveil a food pantry that will be housed downstairs in Reeve (where the hair salon used to be). Both access campuses already have successful food pantry programs for students. The UWO food panty is slated to be piloted in the spring.
