Safety and Security
View the Safety & Security page on the UW Colleges administrative website for more information about crime on campuses, sexual assault information, the sexual assault registry, and the Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Act.
Annual Campus Security Reports
The Fond du Lac campus Annual Security Reports include statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by campus and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
The reports also include institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault and other matters.
Students will be notified each year, via e-mail, when the updated report is published. Copies of the report can be obtained from the Solution Center.
Severe Weather Policy
The Fond du Lac campus rarely cancels all classes for severe weather and only when the campus cannot be safely accessed by a majority of our students. Please note that even when classes are cancelled, that does not mean the campus is closed.
Weather-related cancellations will be communicated by an alert through text and campus email through the eAlert Notification System.
Notices will ONLY be posted if ALL CLASSES are cancelled on the Fond du Lac campus.
If classes are in session despite the weather, you are also encouraged to check the D2L sites for your classes to verify that your instructor has not cancelled that specific class due to inability to get to campus. Do not call the campus for information on individual class cancellations.
We do not cancel classes automatically when the public schools are closed or running late. Because University students are adults and are not dependent upon school buses, we use other criteria in making this decision
You are always encouraged to use your own judgment regarding the safety of the roads. Conditions can vary depending upon your location and commute.
Fond du Lac Campus eAlerts
eAlert is a campus notification system. The Fond du Lac campus students, faculty and staff will receive alerts in the event of a weather-related cancellation of ALL CLASSES or a safety emergency at the campus.
eAlert will automatically send an email to all campus email addresses. Additionally, anyone with a cell number listed in PRISM will also receive a text message. To opt out of receiving a text message, the cell number must be removed in PRISM or changed to “home” or “other.”
The eAlert service is free, but normal short messaging service (SMS) charges from the cellular provider will apply.
Change or add your cell number in PRISM
