Choose how your donation will make an impact.

One of the most enjoyable parts of charitable gift planning is choosing where your donation will make an impact. Many donors choose to give to an existing fund or program, such as the UW Oshkosh Fund or a previously established scholarship fund. Another option is creating a fund or endowment in your name or in the honor of another. Choose a way to give that’s right for you.

Endowed Funds

Endowed funds provide a lasting source of support to students, faculty and University programs. The principal of endowed funds is permanently invested, while the earnings are spent in support of the fund’s purpose. The Foundation Board of Directors annually sets a recommended spending level for endowed funds, based on investment performance. Read about the Foundation’s endowed fund policies.

Endowed funds are assessed an annual administrative fee of 2.5 percent. The minimum contribution to endow a fund is $25,000 and donors may take up to four years to reach that level.

Download our Endowment Brochure for more information.

Endowed Scholarships and Awards

Donors establish scholarship endowments with a minimum contribution of $25,000. Additionally, they may play an integral role in determining scholarship criteria to ensure that their intentions are continually honored. Learn more about scholarships.

Download our Scholarship Brochure for more information.

Endowed Professorships

Endowed professorships are awarded to faculty members who demonstrate outstanding research and engagement in community service. Funded by local sponsors, the awards support research projects and professional development for a four-year term. Learn more about endowed professorships and awards.

Non-Endowed Funds

Non-endowed funds are restricted to a specific purpose or program with the entire fund balance available for spending. These funds are used to promote campus beautification, enhance library resources, equip laboratory facilities, support student organizations or benefit other campus initiatives. These funds do not require a minimum balance, do not earn interest and are subject to an annual 1 percent administrative fee. Some examples of non-endowed funds are:

  • Alumni Service Fund, which supports alumni communications, programming, and special events;
  • Project Success Fund, which benefits the nationally recognized program that helps students with dyslexia; and
  • GO! (Gals Only) Fire Science Camp Fund, which supports summer camps for young women interested in fire service careers.

Scholarships

Scholarships enable UW Oshkosh colleges, departments and programs to assist students with tuition and other college expenses according to donor stipulations. Scholarships help attract the best students to UW Oshkosh and assist those in need of financial support. While at UW Oshkosh, these students develop knowledge and skills that lead to careers and futures they might never have had. Learn more about scholarships

Support for a College or Program

If there is a specific department, college or program you want to support, you can designate your donation and allow that program to decide how to use your donation.
