Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab Band
May 2, 7:30 p.m.
On Thursday, May 2, 7:30 pm, the UW Oshkosh Jazz Ensemble and Fox Cities/Fond du Lac Jazz Lab Band will present a joint concert in Perry Hall on the UW Oshkosh-Fox Cities campus in Menasha. The concert is free and open to the public.
Fox Valley Concert Band
May 17, 7:30 p.m.
The Fox Valley Concert Band, conducted by Dr. Marc Sackman, will give its Spring Concert on Friday, May 17, 7:30 pm, in Perry Hall on the UWO-Fox Cities campus. The concert is free and open to the public. The program will span centuries of band music, from Amilcare Ponchielli’s Sinfonia in Bb to Red Tails by Ayatey Shabazz in 2020 to in tribute of the Tuskegee Airmen of WW II. New England Triptych, based on the music of American colonial composer William Billings and composed in the 1950’s by William Schuman, is a staple of the band repertoire. More recent is The View from the Mountain Top by Timothy Mahr. Our march for the evening and final piece of the season will be our national march, The Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa.
