International Transfer Students

The Fox Cities campus is able to transfer undergraduate courses from accredited or recognized universities and colleges and some courses from technical schools located both within and outside of the U.S. Applicants must provide detailed course descriptions or syllabi for each individual university course or module so that University of Wisconsin Oshkosh can give credit for the most appropriate equivalent course.

For transfer courses to be most useful to the student, they must be similar in nature, level and content to a course in the UW Oshkosh undergraduate curriculum and applicable to one of our academic programs. While courses which don’t meet these criteria may also be transferable, applicants should understand which of these courses will meet specific academic program graduation requirements and which may only count toward the number of course credits needed to graduate.

Continuing education courses and courses that are remedial, technical or vocational in nature are not transferable.

Courses from institutions which are not accredited and/or recognized by their home country ministry of education may be reviewed by the appropriate university departments to determine transferability.

Degree-seeking students can earn credit for IB courses taken prior to admission at UW Oshkosh. See the IB Course Transfer Chart for details.

Admission Requirements

UW Oshkosh follows a comprehensive approach to admissions, considering ALL of the following factors. Each factor is equally important and helps to create a picture of a student’s past performance. Past performance is the indicator that the university uses to determine the probability of future success. Because all of the factors below must be considered together to make an admissions decision, it isn’t possible to tell a prospective student whether they will (or even may) be admissible until ALL application materials have been submitted.

Factors include: individual course grades, a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and the English proficiency score. An applicant’s high school academic record will always be considered when fewer than 30 college-level semester credits have been earned at the time of application and may also be required of any student whose application requires further review. See the eligibility of “First-year Students” for details in relation to high school records and eligibility.
