Your one-stop-shop for all things college. Students regularly visit the Solution Center for admissions, financial aid, registering for classes, academic advising, jobs and internships, and help connecting with other campus resources.

Nearly half of the students on the Fox Cities Campus are the first in their family to attend college, so Solution Center staff always go the extra mile to make sure you and your family are prepared for what lies ahead.

Classrooms

The Fox Cities campus offers classes supporting more than 200+ college majors. You may very well find yourself in one of our large lecture halls, music or theatre departments, TV studios, art studios, engineering labs, computer science labs or the outdoor nature study area.

You’ll quickly make friends with fellow students, find encouragement from academic advisors, and be inspired by outstanding professors.

Science Wing

If you dream of a career in the sciences, then you’ll be amazed by the labs and facilities on the Fox Cities campus. UWO offers coursework in biology, botany, chemistry, geosciences, physics, astronomy, and zoology — to name a few.

The science wing features several “breakout areas,” where students can study and engage with professors, whose offices are located immediately off the breakout areas. The many labs in the science wing provide opportunities for students to dive deeper into areas of study and offer hands-on experience that lays the critical foundation for a career in science.

Communication Arts Center

If you’re inspired by fine and performing arts, you’ll be blown away by the Communications Arts Center — also known as the CAC. The CAC is a beacon of creative activity for students and community members alike.

Students have the opportunity to get involved in theatre arts, band and choir, and visual arts as well. This venue attracts talent from across the nation with musical performances and community theatre productions in Perry Hall, as well as visiting artist talks and art exhibitions in the Aylward gallery.

Fox’s Den and Student Union

As a college student, there will be times you spend your entire day on campus. Thankfully, there’s designated a space for students to kick back, relax and take a break from classes. The Fox’s Den is a café where students can grab breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day.

This area also features a game room, outdoor patio space, and the student union where large gatherings, club meetings and other student activities take place. Some of the most common advice students give to incoming freshman is to get involved on campus, so you’ll be spending lots of time here!

Sports Clubs and Fitness

Healthy bodies support healthy minds. There are plenty of ways you can get active right here on campus. The fitness center is free and open to all students, offering a variety of exercise equipment and free weights. Students also have access to the spacious indoor fieldhouse for pickup games and other recreational activities.

In terms of athletics, you can compete as a Fox Cities Campus Cyclone in one of the many sports clubs offered for students, including men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, soccer, golf and tennis. Teams compete against the other UWO campuses and a select campuses within the UW System.

Library

College-level work requires advanced resources. That’s why the library is the No. 1 place for students to study and work on assignments. In addition to the helpful staff and resources within the library, you’ll have access to an electronic journal collection of more than 50,000 titles and borrowing privileges across the entire UW System.

The library is broken up into three environments: quiet study area for solo work, group study area for class projects, and private study rooms for a distraction-free atmosphere. Within the library is a computer lab with computers equipped with Microsoft Office software, the Adobe Suite, other course-specific applications, and printers and scanners.

Barlow Planetarium

The Barlow Planetarium is the first major planetarium in the state of Wisconsin. This venue draws more than 35,000 visitors annually and is valued for its star and laser shows that are both educational and entertaining. If you’ve never been to a show, you’ll definitely want to check it out! UWO Fox Cities students get a discount with their student ID.

The Weis is the official mineralogical museum of Wisconsin. In addition to its impressive permanent collection of rocks, fossils and minerals, the Evolving Gallery features rotating exhibits throughout the year.
