Course Offerings

Global Language and Culture courses are a core part of the University Studies Program (USP), UW Oshkosh’s general education program, the Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree, and are open to all majors. View our full course list in the UW Oshkosh bulletin, or view course offerings by semester below.

Students with prior language training are eligible to earn up to 14 retroactive credits, depending on the language program’s course offerings. UW System Placement Test

As a rule, all incoming freshmen and some transfer students are required to take the English and Math Placement tests prior to registering at UW Oshkosh. Optional placement tests are available in French, Spanish, and German. Placement tests are currently being offered online. Before you begin, please read the following information thoroughly for taking the UW Online Placement Test

1. Log in with your campus credentials.  Please take only the foreign language test.
2. Within two business days of registering (but more likely within a few minutes), you will receive an email from Scantron with a username and password for accessing the exams.
3. The exam will be available on-demand, and you do not need to complete your exam in one sitting. If you leave or log out of a test before finishing, you may log back in and the system will remember how much time was remaining.
4. Your web browser must be able to accept cookies, JavaScript, and pop-up windows. It is also recommended that you use the most up-to-date version of your web browser.
5. Upon completing a test, you must SUBMIT the exam to receive your score. If you forget to submit the exam, you should be able to log back into the system to submit it.  After you submit the test, scores will not be available immediately.  It may be up to a week before you receive your score.
