Welcome from the Interim Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs

Dear New and Continuing Students,

Congratulations and welcome to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. We consist of three campuses (Oshkosh, Fox Valley and Fond du Lac) but operate as one university. By joining our campus community, you now belong to a family of friends, scholars, researchers and global citizens. We offer amazing opportunities for all students to become more involved in the campus experience and to learn cutting-edge, discipline-specific information, in order to lead highly productive and meaningful lives. We accomplish our goal of enriching the student experience by offering a wide array of social, recreational, intramural, physical, cultural, co-curricular and academic experiences. We also achieve this by fostering and creating a network of partnerships across the campus environment that work together to form a strong foundation of support for promoting excellence in student achievement.

The campus network of programs, policies, procedures and resources can be found in one place, the University Student Handbook. The handbook will acquaint you with descriptions of the academic degrees offered, information about the enrollment and registration process, lists of resources available for achieving academic success, references to important academic policies and procedures, and, of course, specific links to actual campus-based services available for use by students who want to make the most of their academic journey. This handbook also serves as a critical resource and guide to pertinent information for full-time, part-time, undergraduate, graduate, online, newly-admitted and matriculating students, and as a single point of reference for where to go, what to do and how to behave in a thriving campus community. Enrollment at our university generally constitutes a willingness to comply with our rules, policies and expectations for exemplary student conduct and standards of harmonious cohabitation. The proof of your compliance with our stated guidelines for promoting a positive learning environment will be evidenced by all and culminate in the attainment of your desired goals for academic and personal achievement.

Again, I welcome you to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Thank you for choosing us as your path to a meaningful and fulfilling life of learning, serving others and leading the world.

Sincerely,

Dr. Art Munin
Interim Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs
