Start Each Day with a Grateful Heart

It’s hard to believe it has been over a year since we first went under stay-at-home orders. We have all been under the cloud of the pandemic for a very long time. It was unimaginable that our world, our behaviors, our knowledge would have changed so much over the last 52 weeks.

Families, Head Start staff, and children have come a long way, and every day that goes by more people are getting vaccinated. As we all stay vigilant about the continued public health measures, gradual changes will occur over time. Before you know it, we will be on the “other side.”

Take a moment and offer gratitude to someone who has provided you extra support, a listening ear, a helpful word, anything that has made this past year a little easier. Families…Reach out to the Head Start staff and acknowledge their efforts. Staff…Reach out to families and appreciate their contributions.

Together we will continue to move forward. Sometimes it feels like the pandemic will go on forever, but as anyone who studies history knows, this is just a blip. One day we will want to tell our children and our grandchildren about the crazy year that was 2020.
