ResNet (In-Room Internet)

ResNet is the wired network service provided by the Department of Residence Life and supported by campus Information Technology (IT). Network switches can be checked out at the front desk to enable the connection of multiple devices to ethernet.

Wireless

UW Oshkosh offers a campus wide wireless service currently named Titan WiFi. To learn more about this service please visit: https://uwosh.edu/it/service-offering/wifi/

Virus Protection

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Information Technology department requires that all computers connecting to ResNet have an effective, self-updating antivirus program.  Information Technology department does not make recommendations on individual virus protection software but are willing to troubleshoot virus related issues that students, staff and/or Faculty might need.  IT resources can be found here: https://uwosh.edu/it/service-offering/technology-centers/).

Having multiple antivirus programs installed may cause problems on your computer.  Make sure to remove antivirus programs before installing another.

Need HELP?

Throughout the year IT offers help to connect residents to the network and help to maintain that connection by offering virus and spyware help.  Information Technology department does not do any hardware or software support.  IT related assistance can be obtained by phone 920-424-3020 or by email helpdesk@uwosh.edu.
