South Gruenhagen Hall


South Gruenhagen Hall houses students on floors 4-10 and offices on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The hall’s floors offer scattered, co-ed, and all women’s living options. South Gruenhagen is also home to many different environments, including floors dedicated to the students of Fox Valley Technical College.

Within South Gruenhagen you will have access to a kitchen, laundry facility, study spaces in the floor lounges, a TV lounge, computer lab, and much more! South Gruenhagen was named the 2013-2014 Large Residence Hall of the Year by the UWO chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary. The hall is also host to the campus-wide annual Glow Party in November. South Gruenhagen beds may be lofted with the use of College Products lofts. South Gruenhagen is located across the street from the parking ramp and Blackhawk Commons and only a short walk to the Student Recreation and Wellness Center and the new Rec Plex. The hall is open during academic breaks.

Hall Staff

Each wing in South Gruenhagen Hall has a Community Advisor (CA). The role of the CA is to help you in your on-campus living experience. They have been trained extensively in the areas of peer helping, university resources, planning programs and activities for you that will be fun, educational and also engage you in the hall, campus, and Oshkosh community.

 

South Gruenhagen also has a student Health Advocate in the building that can provide general medical information and supplies such as band aids, aspirin, and health brochures.

These student staff members are there to help you have a great time, as well as make sure that the hall community is a safe, respectful, and responsible environment for you to live in.

There is a Residence Hall Director (RHD) who is a professional that has earned a Master’s degree in Student Affairs or a related field. The RHD is here to supervise the staff, encourage leadership development, run the building, and make sure that you have a positive growing experience.

There is also an Assistant Residence Hall Director (ARHD) who is a graduate student that assists the hall director in the day to day operations of the building along with supervising the staff.
