HR System Update Will Provide Easier Access to Self Service Pages and Resources
Starting on November 3, 2019, a Human Resource System (HRS) update will provide UW managers and employees with easier access to HR related Self Service pages and resources through simplified navigation.
MANAGER SELF SERVICE UPDATES:
Managers who Approve Time: For managers who approve time, there will now be a convenient link in the Time and Absence Manager Self Service Dashboard. The link to approve time that is currently located in the MyUW portal will be removed.
Other pages used to manage employee’s time and absence can now be found in a new left side bar, just click on a tab to see the information.
Managers of Talent Acquisition Management (TAM): All TAM managers will have access to the TAM Recruiting Home Dashboard. The Manager Self Service home page will include a Recruiting Home tile to take users to the Recruiting Home Dashboard.
All Managers: A drop down on the home page for Manager Self Service and Employee Self Service will allow users to conveniently switch between Employee Self Service and Manger Self Service home pages.
SELF SERVICE UPDATES FOR ALL EMPLOYEES AND MANAGERS:
Navigating to Self Service Pages
Navigation from the MyUW portal to HR related Self Service pages will not change. Users can continue to choose portal tiles related to Payroll, Benefits, Time and Absence, etc., to navigate to Self Service pages.
Self Service Home Pages
To simplify navigation for users, once in Self Service, there will be no need to navigate back to the portal to choose a different HR related tile to complete an additional task.
Now, conveniently located within Self Service, there will be a home button on the top right of each page that takes users to the Manager Self Service or Employee Self Service home page. This home page provides a collection of tiles for navigating to Self Service pages relating to Payroll, Benefits, Time and Absence, etc. By clicking a tile, users will have access to the pages pertaining to that topic and related tasks without the need to leave the Self Service environment.
Navigation Within Self Service Pages
Self Service pages now include a convenient left side bar with tabs allowing the user to navigate between pages within that specific Self Service environment.
UPDATES THAT WILL OCCUR FOR SPECIFIC EMPLOYEE GROUPS:
There are some updates that will be experienced only by specific employee groups. These employees will be notified of these changes through a direct email distributed the week of October 28, 2019.
Employees who use a Webclock to report time: These employees will continue to access the Webclock in the same way that they do today. The page will look different in that it will be labeled “Report Time” instead of “Webclock.” Employees with multiple jobs will need to select the job for which they are reporting time, which has not changed from the current practice. A Web Clock/Report Time tipsheet is available on the Time and Absence Help page.
Employees Paid Monthly: Self Service pages for employees paid monthly will look similar to pages before the update. For monthly paid employees who report time, the timesheet can now be accessed from the Self Service page. A new left side bar with tabs on Benefits and Time and Absence pages will give them access to helpful resources.
Employees Paid Biweekly: Employees paid biweekly will continue to access their timesheet in the same way that they currently do. A new left side bar with tabs on Benefits and Time and Absence pages will give them access to helpful resources.
Help resources are available on all Self Service pages by clicking the action menu (three stacked dots) on the top right of each page. These are the same help resources that will continue to be available through the MyUW portal (for UW System institutions or UW-Madison) and on the UW Service Operations home page.
