Dear Campus Community,
On Monday August 24th at 12:24pm, Information Technology was informed of an attempted phishing email that appeared to be sent from Chancellor Leavitt’s personal email address. This email was sent by a malicious party that was not affiliated with Chancellor Leavitt or UW Oshkosh.
The email was probably intended to encourage recipients to open an attached file, which likely would have contained a virus. Luckily, in this case, the file was not delivered and people who received the message were not infected.
