Paula Lovell teaches a public relations case studies course for UW Oshkosh’s Department of Journalism. She additionally teaches classes for the Radio/TV/Film Department and Communication Studies Department.  

Lovell served as faculty adviser to the student newspaper on the Fox Cities campus for more than a decade. Before moving to Wisconsin, she taught media and communication classes for universities and colleges in Missouri and Iowa. Lovell has been nominated for multiple teaching awards, including the UW Colleges’ Chancellor’s Excellence in Teaching Award and Teacher of the Year.  

Prior to pursuing graduate studies, Lovell was a member of an account team at a public relations agency. She traveled the U.S. taking photos and conducting interviews for national clients. Her early career included jobs at commercial and public radio stations in Iowa, production work for a television station, and writing for regional newspapers. Lovell holds a master’s degree in communication studies, along with a bachelor’s in communication/public relations with a journalism minor. She has been an instructor in the University of Wisconsin System since 1999.
