Research Agenda / Areas of Interest

My overall goal as an athletic trainer and a researcher is to make sports as safe, fun, and accessible as possible for all! I mostly do this through understanding injury risk, prevention strategies, and care of injuries. A few specific topics that I am interested are: youth and collegiate athlete sport injury risk, youth and collegiate athlete injury risk reduction, lower extremity injury risk, and concussion's association with lower extremity injury.

Outside Interests / Hobbies

Spending time with my wife and kids, usually outside. I am a lover of all sports, but I specifically love to golf in my spare time. I enjoy reading many kinds of books, and volunteering my time in the community.

"What does it mean to be a Kinesiology faculty member at UW Oshkosh?"

I grew up in the Fox Cities and Oshkosh and the surrounding area is an incredibly special place to me and it is the people and students that make it so special. I am excited to mentor these students in and beyond their academic careers. Watching students find their passion and chase their dreams is a pleasure, and I consider myself lucky to be a part of it as an educator. Outside of the amazing students I get to interact with, I am also excited because the Kinesiology Department is well integrated into the communities around UW Oshkosh. This integration creates a relationship where research is not just done for the sake of research, but is helpful for the community. I hope and believe that my community-based research will positively impact the people in and around UW Oshkosh in order to promote health and sports for all ages.

"When they graduate from our program, I hope that my students..."

...have found a passion and a dream to chase. One that was unlocked and fostered by their time at UW Oshkosh. My goal is to aid in this endeavor for students as much as possible!
