LGBTQ+ Ally March
The ally march is a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community. It is a time to recommit to what it means to be an ally to the identities in this community that differ from your own, and a chance to thank those who are truly walking the walk of being an ally. Straight, cisgender allies are a corner-stone of the LGBTQIA+ community. Additionally, the alliance is strengthened by members of the LGBTQIA+ community supporting each other.
On this day, we celebrate all who are queerly diverse and all who are dedicated to making our schools, communities, nation and world safer and more accepting of sexuality and gender diversity.
The 2019 LGBTQ+ Ally march will be held on Wednesday, April 17 in the Reeve Memorial Union Ballroom with doors opening at 5 p.m.
Lead the March
- Create a team of 10-15 members from your organization, team, floor, sorority, fraternity, friends, academic major or other UW Oshkosh group.
- If your team has more than 15 people, consider splitting into smaller teams. Family and friends may join team in order to reach the 10-person minimum.
- Email the LGBTQ Resource Center your team name.
- Add your team name in the drawing at the Ally March check-in. We will draw at the end of the rally and announce the team that will lead the march.
