Committees and Working Groups

There are many ways for staff and faculty to get involved with the LGBTQ+ Resource Center. These are the committees and working groups associated with the Resource Center that work to better the lives and experiences of queer and trans students at UWO. If you or anyone you know is interested in getting involved with these initiatives, please contact Interim Director Maddie Wiles. (wilesm@uwosh.edu)

Campus Pride Index Task Force

This committee (including subcommittees) meets roughly once a month to discuss ways to implement the Campus Pride Index here at UWO. The Campus Pride Index is “an overall indicator of institutional commitment to LGBTQ-inclusive policy, program and practice.”

Rainbow Rally and Pride Ride Committee

This committee (including subcommittees) meets throughout the year to prepare for UWO’s annual UNITED Rally. Members work on fundraising, outreach, and general event planning.

This is an official university committee that meets to “provide visionary leadership, education, and advocacy necessary to cultivate an equitable, inclusive, and supportive climate for the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh community members of all sexual identities.” The council also facilitates the annual LGBTQ+ Ally Awards and the Queer and Trans Faculty/Staff Awards.
