About the producer
My name is Marshall Madison, I go by my alter ego Figment when producing and creating music. I have been producing for about 7 years and rapping for 2 years. I do production in all styles but I focus on rap and hip hop experimental electronic styles. I do all the production, writing, mastering, and artwork for my songs. I plan to continue music production and performance as a career after school.

About The Process
I created this entire project in FL studio. The main melodic elements come from a piano sample, a flute sample, and an ambient atmospheric sample. Each is eq’d and produced to sound vintage and low quality. There are then 4 different drum loops which I chopped up and produced to fit into the crackly low quality vibe. I also have 2 different 808 patterns that I created to complete the track. As for my vocals I do a bit of production to get them to sound how I want, and a lot of layering as well. At most in this song I believe I have up to 8 layers of different vocal tracks.
