Transfer Admission for Online Degree Programs

You are considered a transfer student if you have credits to transfer into UW Oshkosh — from one credit to a full associate degree or more.

Follow these step-by-step instructions for applying to UW Oshkosh online degree programs as a transfer student. Please note that the transfer student admission process for traditional in-person programs differs slightly. If you are planning to enroll in an on-campus degree program, visit the admissions office website for more information on traditional program application.

Step One: Schedule an advising appointment

We highly encourage students who are interested in online degree programs to make an appointment with an advisor. You can discuss your options and path, and we can give you additional information to help you decide if an online program is right for you!

Fill out our prospective student form, and an advisor will reach out to you typically within one business day. You can also call (920) 424-0234 or email to speak with someone now!

Step Two: Apply to UW Oshkosh

Apply online using the UW-System online application.

  • Complete the information to log in to the application page.
  • Select UW Oshkosh for your school, and indicate that you are a degree-seeking student.
  • When you arrive at the page titled UW Oshkosh Undergraduate Programs find the “sort by” drop-down menu, choose “School / College,” and click “resort.”
  • Scroll down to “UW-Oshkosh,” and select your intended major.

Step Three: Send official transcripts to UW Oshkosh

Even if you only took one or two courses, we need your transcripts. Many times your previous institution will send these to us on your behalf, and sometimes your previous institution will charge you a fee. If do not have any previous college coursework, you may skip this step.

Mail all transcripts to:

If using USPS:  If using UPS, FedEx or express delivery:
UW Oshkosh Admissions Office

PO Box 2423

Oshkosh, WI 54903-2423

UW Oshkosh Admissions Office

800 Algoma Boulevard

Oshkosh, WI 54901

Step Four: Submit the application fee

If you are applying as a degree-seeking student to UW Oshkosh, a nonrefundable application fee of $50 is required. If the last institution you attended was a UW College (two-year campus), the application fee is not required.

Once you are accepted

You will receive an official acceptance letter from the Division of Online and Continuing Education. This letter will contain information on your academic advisor, online class orientation, and enrolling in classes. We encourage you to connect with your advisor to help answer any questions you may have about your college career. Advising appointments are available via telephone, email and in person.
