Join us for two amazing opportunities to enjoy food and history in Milwaukee.  Enjoy the comfort of a coach bus, a professional & educational tour guide, beautiful sites, fun shopping and fabulous food. 

Progressive Ethnic Meal

 

Date: Thursday, April 14, 2022
Start Time: 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Pick-up/drop-off in Menasha, Oshkosh and Fond du Lac)
Level: Minimal walking (Must be able to enter/exit bus multiple times during day)
Cost: $129 per person ($5 discount for UWO Alumni and UWO LIR Members)

  • Begin on Old World 3rd Street with overview of Milwaukee’s German history. Enjoy sausage, cheese and beer/root beer plus shopping time on Old World 3rd Street.
  • Enjoy a generous family-style lunch at Milwaukee’s last remaining Polish restaurant. Polish meal is served family style complete with green salad, cheese pierogi, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, Polish sausage, pork cutlets, and red cabbage.
  • Guided city tour along Milwaukee’s lakefront.
  • Visit Brady Street, Milwaukee’s Italian enclave; stop at Peter Sciortino’s Bakery for cookies and shopping; visit Glorioso’s Deli for continued shopping.
  • Conclude in the Historic Third Ward with a narration of Milwaukee’s Irish history. Enjoy shopping at Milwaukee Public Market before heading home tired and full of food and fun.

  • Enjoy lunch at Miss Katie’s Diner, a classic Milwaukee diner complete with poodle skirts.
  • Give two thumbs up with a visit and photo opportunity to Fonzie along the Milwaukee RiverWalk. Ayyyyy…
  • Delve into a “custard crawl” with stops at two historic custard stands Leon’s Frozen Custard and Gille’s Frozen Custard
  • Enjoy and engaging narrated, guided city tour throughout day.
  • Take a brief historical tour of downtown Wauwatosa with shopping time in this quaint city.
