The Women’s Wellness and Education Retreat offers presenters who are experts in their fields. Each presenter offers and engaging and informative presentation ensured to elevate your knowledge and passion for health and wellness.


Session 1:  Mastering the Mind Body Connection: Discover simple strategies to befriend the mind to better your body.

Marissa Armstrong

Marissa is a faithful follower, wife, cat mom, entrepreneur, and fitness specialist. Marissa has been in the fitness industry for over 8 years as a natural body building bikini competitor, former powerlifter, and fitness entrepreneur. She graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science from Montclair State University in NJ, where she grew up. Marissa is the proud owner of Marissa’s Fit Boutique, a health and fitness studio located in downtown Oshkosh. Her and her studio trainers specialize in customized workout programs. She believes in a holistic, flow not force approach to assist women with their specific body needs and fitness goals. Marissa has an overwhelmingly strong passion to create empowering communities for women. Her studio is one example of that!


Session 2:  Understanding Brain Health:   Learn how to support your brain with simple changes to your dietary and lifestyle habits.  Discover why lowering your carbohydrate intake and/or a ketogenic diet, can significantly improve mental clarity and focus.  Dietary changes combined with daily movement, de-stressing techniques and self care can be powerful ways to proactively take care of this essential organ.  Find out which supplements support brain health, when and why you should take them.

Rebecca Aldag, MBA, MS, CNS, RH

Aldag is a professional wellness expert who combines her vast knowledge of science with a passion for nutrition, herbal medicine, and strength training.

The owner of Aldag Wellness in Neenah, Wis., she holds an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, an MS in herbal medicine from the Maryland University of Integrative Health and a BS in medical technology from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

Aldag is a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), a Registered Herbalist (RH) with the American Herbalists Guild, and a Level 2 StrongFirst Certified Kettlebell Instructor. She is a sought-after speaker and instructor at wellness workshop throughout the state, teaches StrongFirst kettlebell weight training classes, and designs and advises individuals, groups, and corporations on wellness topics and programs. Aldag Wellness is located inside Align Chiropractic in Neenah. Aldag teaches StrongFirst kettlebells at Indigo Om Wellness Studio in Neenah and TNT Fitness in Menasha. Session 3:  Nutrition on the Brain:  Nutrition is more than just the physical food we eat. Many factors influence our nutrition choices. In this session, we will discuss strategies for tackling cravings, understanding and recognizing physical vs. emotional hunger as well as learning what strategies to keep us as healthy, clear and as energized as possible. 

Kate Harrell, MS, RD, CSSD, LD

Kate is a registered dietitian and certified specialist in Sports Dietetics and Weight Management. She holds a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology.  Kate is employed by the Kinesiology Department at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and serves as the Director, Healthy Titans Employee Fitness Program.  Kate also provides nutrition coaching and training at the Oshkosh YMCA.  She is passionate about the integration of fitness & nutrition for health & vitality. 


Session 4:  Nature & Forest Bathing and Therapy
Nature Bathing is an opportunity to slow down in nature and experience your senses.  The benefits of this very simply process shows to lower blood pressure, depression and anxiety and increase heart rate variability and sense of well being.  Join me to experience nature in a whole new way. Restore, renew and reconnect to the world around you!

Michelle Novenski, MMS

Novenski is a stress management and personal resilience coach and mentor.  Her purpose is to guide others to discover a life full of peace and purpose.  She has spent the past 30 plus years exploring personal development, gaining degrees, diplomas, and
certifications in meditation, resilience, communication, energy healing and cooking. Two of her favorite things is to practice resilience training and experimenting with whole food cooking.

Novenski has a degree in Organizational Communication, Masters in Metaphysical Sciences and is a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Processing and Psycho Somatic Analysis.


Session 5:  Cardio Drumming and Mindfulness:  This session begins as a combination of releasing your inner Rockstar and performing fitness exercises to fun music with a buddy.  (It is completely adaptable to all fitness levels).  Then after about 20 minutes we will learn the many ways mindfulness can help you in your daily life, how to bring your “best-self” to situations, and why your emotions matter.  There will be a number of guided mindfulness exercises as well as training your mind how to use a “Purposeful Pause.” 

Julie Ortman

Ortman has been involved in the health and fitness world for her entire life. Between playing, coaching and owning her own personal training business, she has done it all. She is passionate about helping people be their best self and making personal connections.  As the current Wellness Director for Verve, a credit union, she is committed to creating a more engaged, productive and healthy culture for her Verve teammates.

Ortman is a former NCAA Division I scholarship student-athlete in volleyball who holds an M.S. in Sports Psychology, has served as a high school and collegiate volleyball and track coach, and has been the owner-operator of a personal training business.  To recharge, Ortman enjoys cycling, boating, fishing and having quiet time with wife Pam and dog Beau.
