Learning in Retirement at UW Oshkosh

Are you looking for something to keep yourself sharp, active and involved? Learning in Retirement (LIR) is a self-directed, membership-based association of people 55+, offering learning opportunities to its members.

Members choose topics or subjects, take the lead in organizing classes, discussion groups or tours and participate in peer teaching and learning. There are classes and instructors, but no tests or grades.

LIR is affiliated with UW Oshkosh’s Division of Online and Continuing Education, which created and hosts the organization and facilitates learning activities.

Featured Event: Tour Miller Park and Fiserv Forum

Join us on July 9 for a “behind the scenes” tour of two of Milwaukee’s iconic sports attractions: Miller Park and Fiserv Forum!

The guided tour of beautiful Miller Park includes a look into the visitor’s locker room, one of the dugouts, a walk along the warning track, and more.

The timing of our Fiserv Forum tour could not be better! We will have a guided visit of the fantastic new home facility of the Milwaukee Bucks, who are currently in the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals. The venue will also be the home of the Democratic National Committee Primary Convention in 2020.

Lunch will be at Saz’s State House Restaurant. Meal includes an entrée, beverage (coffee/tea/soda) and tip.

The schedule for the day is as follows:
7:30 am: Check-in and board coach bus at Rogan Shoe’s, 2145 S. Koeller St, Oshkosh
8:00 am: Depart Oshkosh
10 – 11:30 am: Tour Miller Park
Noon – 1:00 pm: Lunch at Saz’s State House Restaurant
1:30 – 3 pm: Tour of Fiserv Forum
3:00 pm: Depart Milwaukee
5:00 pm: Return to Oshkosh

The cost is $74 for LIR Members / $79 for non-members.
