Cyber Threats, Attacks and Defenses
This course uses case studies to examine information system threats, attacks, and defenses. Common techniques that attackers utilize for breaking into today’s organizations will be analyzed as well as defensive strategies organizations can utilize to reduce these risks. Rather than studying these subjects from a purely hypothetical standpoint, subjects will be studied in the context of real-world examples. By understanding the mistakes other organizations have made, students can learn from these mistakes and develop a plan that will prevent their organizations from suffering the same kinds of breaches. Defensive strategies will be developed in the context of the principles of Defense in Depth and the Assumption of Compromise.
