Police Academy

Learn what it takes to protect and serve.

Law enforcement professionals play an essential role in ensuring the safety of our communities. During this overnight academy, youth get hands-on experience by performing tasks and training exercises alongside local law enforcement.

Students will tour local law enforcement offices and learn from regional police and public safety professionals. Participants will undergo training based on real police drills and exercises including:

  • Using handcuffs and other standard uniform tools
  • Working with a K9 unit
  • Clearing a room
  • Conducting traffic stops and bike patrol
  • Being an essential component of a criminal investigation

Through immersive field activities, participants will get a realistic view of the skills and education required to be a police officer using the latest tactical equipment and vehicles available. The academy also offers career and education mentoring for students interested in working in law enforcement.
