Titan Steelband Academy

For children who love making music or keeping the beat, the UW Oshkosh Department of Music is offering the Titan Steelband Academy for youth entering grades 4–12. This musical academy, divided into beginner and intermediate levels, allows students to learn, listen and play together as they are introduced to the steelpans.

Students will be exposed to many styles of music including pop, rock, reggae, calypso and more as they explore a variety of percussion instruments, musical improvisation and songwriting techniques. Each academy closes with a youth steelband performance for friends and family.

We are excited to announce the UW Oshkosh Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) is providing a $150 tuition voucher to high school students who complete this academy.

The tuition voucher is:

  • Applicable for the 2019-2020 academic year for high school students whose schools offer UWO CAPP courses;
  • Valid for one-time use, and cannot carry over to the next academic year nor any other program on campus;
  • Non-transferable;
  • Unable to be used retroactively (previously completed CAPP courses); and
  • Not available to those who register but do not complete the academy.
