ES Spring Awards
Study Abroad Award: relevant text; see other items in the folder for examples:
I have a few examples attached. If you wanted to add a study abroad scholarship to the existing ES Department fund, it would look similar to the agreement for 7880. On page 4, there is a line item referring to the “Art Study Abroad Scholarship” and then the criteria and selection committee is defined. The other two examples that are attached are funds for that specific scholarship.
Generally, the criteria for the awards are typically that they are participating in a study abroad program offered by that academic department and then they submit a statement on their need for scholarship support and how they think the study abroad program will benefit their education. Most study abroad awards don’t have any criteria beyond that because we want the department to be able to consider any of the students participating in the study abroad program, but there can certainly be other criteria added, such as a minimum GPA, if desired.
