Faculty Teaching Evaluations 3. Performance Evaluation of Chairs 4. Use of SOS Data 5. Variation in Teaching Load 6. By-laws updates a. Remove all gender-specific terms b. Capitalize College, Department, Department Chair, Director, and committee names. Changes will be needed to by-laws. Suggested language below is designed to reduce the need for frequent changes. The Department of Social Work collects and uses SOS data in accordance with Regent, System, and UW Oshkosh policies. The Department of Social Work conducts annual faculty performance evaluations in accordance with Regent, System, and UW Oshkosh policies. Personnel Policy should include: All faculty members have an obligation to engage in scholarly or creative activities and remain current and productive in their areas of expertise (FAC 1.A.3(4) and FAC 7.B.1(2)). As scholarly or creative pursuits often are dependent on time away from other activities (such as teaching), and because faculty members’ teaching loads can vary across a department, college, or campus, scholarly or creative output should be evaluated based on a faculty member’s teaching load over the period of time under consideration.
