Fun with Frogs!

Molly Walter

Senior, Early Childhood Special Education

Abstract

My STEAM lesson plan entitled, “Fun with Frogs!”, is designed for preschool-aged children to learn multiple facts about frogs through science, technology, engineering, arts, and math lessons. For this five-day STEAM unit, I created an artificial intelligence (known as AI) character, a frog named, Frankie, which makes a consistent appearance throughout my unit. I authored a children’s book for my lesson which included multiple AI characters and images and wrote new lyrics to the tune of one of the more famous children’s songs “If you’re happy and you know it” to match my theme. At the end of the STEAM unit, preschool students will be able to know and name what frogs eat and where frogs live on their own.
